God am I glad that I didn't spent all my hero points on skills I never use from the core skills. Most alts have 50 up to 200 hero points now even with 10-15 % map completion. And don't have trait or type of skills I never use anyway. I was being hated when I came out with my complaint that anet auto leveled many skill I don't even want. You can never change your class or race, and once you invest hero points unlocking an elite spec, those are permanently invested, but you can always get enough of those, so they aren't a limited resource. I get ur point, but right now we have: buy gold, buy gear, buy some achievs, buy bags, buy bank, buy everything on tp, buy waypoints, buy hero points, so yeah a very big gameplay time can be skipped here and we just got 1 more little skip to it in the form of a noob trap
Hero Points however, you need to interact with every spot per character to get that or these hero points for that character, note that a character at level 80 will automatically have enough Hero Points to unlock every trait line and every utility skill of their core specialization, so getting extra HPs through map exploration is not necessary.

The Attribute Refunds system was an early mechanic, at the time the only way to redistribute your attribute points. Spending one refund allowed you to lower one attribute by one rank; increasing an attribute was still free. One refund was gained for each 250 experience gained, and per mission completed (even after the first time).

No need to reset skill points as there are more skill points in-game than you will need to use for every single skill. Traits however CAN be reset by just talking to your trainer for a fee. Due to poor explanation of skills in GW2, there is a good chance a player will make a mistake in spending skill points on useless skills.
Also want to mention, this build have a LOT of variability with it's traits and utility skills, and even with weapon choises (for example hammer instead of staff for less healing but more cc, axe/sword for more fury on party, etc)
